Woodside Estates, the neighborhood that Woodside Lake is located in, was just featured in the “Where We Live” feature of the Washington Post’s real estate section. Being in such close proximity to Woodside Lake is one of the things that makes Woodside Estates such a great neighborhood. Of course, you don’t have to live in Woodside Estates anymore to become a Woodside Lake members. Many of our members now live in areas adjacent to Woodside Estates. But being able to walk to the lake sure is nice!
The summer 2016 season at Woodside Lake is fast approaching. In the coming week, current Woodside Lake members will be receiving emails and letters with information on renewing your membership for 2016. You can also get a jump start and renew online now. Just go to http://woodsidelake.org/membership/ , fill out the 2016 online application, and send us your payment. The gate code changes Memorial Day weekend, so get your renewal in ASAP. You’ll be hearing from the Lake Association soon about all the events we have planned for this summer.
The 2015 Woodside Lake Association fall membership meeting this year will be held on Wednesday, October 28th, starting at 7:00pm, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. St. Thomas is located at 8991 Brook Rd., right at the intersection of Lewinsville Rd. and Brook Rd. Ample parking is available on site. The Lake Association will provide light refreshments. All members of WLA are highly encourage to attend. Check your email for more information about the meeting agenda, or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
This Saturday, Sept. 26th is the Woodside Lake fall clean up. If you’d like to help out, stop by the lake anytime between 9am and Noon. We’ll weeding the beach, picking up trash and debris, trimming branches, and the like. The Lake Association will have some tools and trash bags, but please bring your own work gloves, yard clipper, rakes, etc. if you can.
Please join us on Saturday, May 9th, from 9am until mid-afternoon, for the Lake spring clean-up. Pitch in and help get Woodside Lake ready for the summer season. We’ll be doing the normal leaf raking, trash pick-up, beach clean-up, cutting back branches, etc. We’ll also spreading new sand on the beach. And in anticipation of new plantings in the Lake area, we are going to need to clear out all the weeds and invasive species from a few target areas. This will be labor intensive work, so WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET.
If your kids and any of their friends need community service hours for school, send them to Woodside Lake on May 9th.
We’ll have some tools, but also please bring your own work gloves, yard clipper, rakes, shovels, etc. if you can.
The Lake Association will provide water and light snacks.
Remember, Woodside Lake is only as attractive and welcoming as you help make it!
