Please join us at Woodside Lake Saturday, May 20th for our first outdoor movie night of the season. The movie will begin after sunset, around 8:00pm. We’ll be voting on what to watch from among PG movies.
Feel free to come earlier and enjoy the lake, chat with your fellow lake members, fire up the grill, etc. The Lake Association will be providing water, beer, wine and snacks, but still feel free to bring your own munchies. Also feel free to bring patio chairs, blankets, and other appropriate seating.
All Lake members are more than welcome to invite non-member guests. The more the merrier!
If you still need to renew your membership for 2017, please bring a check along with you.
Hope to see everyone May 20th!
Spring clean up – Saturday, May 6
(NOTE: Entrance Gate Code has changed as of May 1st)
Please join us on Saturday, May 6 from 9am until Noon, for the Woodside Lake spring clean-up. Pitch in and help get the Lake ready for the summer season. We’ll be raking leaves, picking up trash, cleaning up the beach, cutting back branches, etc.
If your kids and any of their friends need community service hours for school, send them to Woodside Lake this Saturday morning. We’ll sign off on the hours they volunteer.
Please bring your own tools, work gloves, yard clipper, rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc. if you can.
The Lake Association will provide water and light snacks.
Remember, Woodside Lake is only as attractive and welcoming as you help make it!
P.S. Coming soon – May outdoor movie night. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 20. More details soon!
2017 Membership process has started!
Please pay your dues (click on “Membership” tab) and invite friends to join as well!
**Please check the “Events” page for 2017 planned events**
Please join us this Saturday, Sept. 10 for one of our most popular events – outdoor movie night at Woodside Lake. This year we’ll be screening “The Goonies” (1985), a classic action-adventure film about a group of kids searching for a pirate’s treasure in their home town. The film is rated PG. (Parents should individually determine the appropriateness of this film for their own children.)
We’ll start a pre-movie potluck and cookout around 6:30. If you are joining in the potluck portion of the evening, please bring a dish to share and meat to grill. The Lake Association will provide drinks, condiments, plates, and napkins.
The movie will start around 7:30-8:00pm (right after sundown). Feel free to bring blankets, stadium chairs, low profile folding chairs, etc. to sit on, as well as your own food and beverages to enjoy during the film.
So come to the potluck, the movie or both. And all members are welcome to invite guests to join in the fun. We hope to see everyone this Saturday!
Woodside Estates, the neighborhood that Woodside Lake is located in, was just featured in the “Where We Live” feature of the Washington Post’s real estate section. Being in such close proximity to Woodside Lake is one of the things that makes Woodside Estates such a great neighborhood. Of course, you don’t have to live in Woodside Estates anymore to become a Woodside Lake members. Many of our members now live in areas adjacent to Woodside Estates. But being able to walk to the lake sure is nice!
Please join us this Saturday, Aug. 6 for our next summer monthly cookout and potluck at Woodside Lake. We’ll start things off around 6:30pm, but feel free to join us at any time before 9pm-ish. As usual, the Woodside Lake Association will provide drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), supplies (plates, napkins, etc.), and condiments. Please bring a side dish to share and, if you prefer, meat to grill. If you are a new member for 2016, this is a great way to get to know the other lake members. And if you haven’t used the new (to us) kayaks yet, Saturday is a good time to try them out.
Please join us this Saturday, July 2nd for the Woodside Lake Independence Day party. All members and their guests are welcome. We’ll start things off with a potluck and cookout around 6:30pm. Then we’ll have a fireworks display starting around 9:00pm. Join us for both or just the fireworks.
If you’re coming to the cookout, bring a dish to share with others and meat to grill for yourself. The Lake Association will provide drinks (non-alcoholic and some alcoholic), utensils, and condiments. Of course, the lake will be open all day for member use, including boating, swimming, and the badminton court, so come enjoy the lake before the fireworks start.
We hope to see everyone for the fireworks at Woodside Lake this Saturday!
Unfortunately, we have to postpone the Woodside Lake outdoor movie night again due to weather. There’s a 50% chance of severe thunderstorms predicted for tonight (June 4) right when we would be showing the movie. We’ll be working out a rescheduled date with the outdoor movie company, and we’ll let you know as soon as we have a new date.
Let’s hope the third time is a charm for movie night!
